100 OFWs repatriated from Kuwait arrived at NAIA on Saturday

Administrator Arnel Ignacio of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) welcomed 100 repatriated OFWs from Kuwait yesterday (26 August) at NAIA airport according to OWWA’s Facebook.

The OWWA Airport Team together with Admin Ignacio immediately assisted the OFWs by providing food, hotel accommodation, and transportation assistance to travel into their home provinces. Financial assistance was also given to those in need.

According to OWWA, 20 OFWs were repatriated on 21 August, and another group of 50 on 25 August.

Repatriation is one of the programs of OWWA, which aims to bring back of distressed OFWs and human remains. Emergency repatriation is carried out in the event of any political unrest or natural calamities. Workers are accorded airport assistance, temporary shelter at the OWWA Halfway Home, psycho-social counseling, stress debriefing, and transport services or fares for their onward travel to their respective provinces.100 OFWs repatriated from Kuwait arrived at NAIA on Saturday
