The Heritage Fiesta & Roving Exhibition 2024 is poised to showcase the rich tapestry of Hong Kong’s architectural history with a vibrant celebration running from October 1 to November 30. Featuring 11 iconic monuments and historic buildings, the event promises an immersive experience for residents and visitors alike.
The fiesta will unfold across various locations, offering free guided tours at each site. Participants can explore significant landmarks, including the Bethanie Campus, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and the historic Christ the King Chapel at St. Paul’s Convent. Other notable venues include the First Church of Christ, Scientist, the Former French Mission Building, and the lively Fringe Club, among others.
In addition to the guided tours, the roving exhibition will take place from October 1 to January 27, 2025, at various public libraries, government offices, and shopping malls, further extending the reach of this cultural celebration.
Kicking off the event on its inaugural day, attendees can participate in free workshops and enjoy a community music performance at selected historic buildings. The Antiquities & Monuments Office will also host public lectures at the Heritage Discovery Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, focusing on the significance of the featured structures.
This annual fiesta aims not only to educate the public about Hong Kong’s architectural heritage but also to foster a sense of community and appreciation for the city’s rich history.
