Cacdac to Submit Courtesy Resignation Following Marcos’s Cabinet Review Order

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac announced Thursday he will submit a courtesy resignation, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for all Cabinet members to step down and “recalibrate” the administration.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Cacdac affirmed his compliance with the presidential order, emphasizing his commitment to serving “under the trust and confidence” of the president.

Marcos has ordered a comprehensive review of his Cabinet’s performance in the wake of the 2025 midterm elections, signaling a potential significant restructuring of his government.

“This is not business as usual,” Marcos stated in a news release. The president stressed that the move is aimed at realigning government operations with public expectations, focusing on “performance, alignment, and urgency.”

The planned reshuffling comes as a proactive measure to respond to the electoral landscape, with Marcos indicating that the changes are substantive rather than personal.

The courtesy resignation request applies to all Cabinet secretaries, reflecting a broader strategic recalibration of the administration’s approach to governance.
