Firefighters responded to a chemical leak in Yuen Long early Sunday morning, as authorities urged nearby residents to close their windows and stay indoors.
The incident, which occurred shortly before 1 a.m., involved oil tanks located on Wang Lok Street. The Fire Services Department swiftly dispatched officers to the scene to manage the situation and mitigate potential hazards.
“Members of the public who are being affected by the smoke and an unusual odor carried by the wind are advised to close their doors and windows and stay calm,” a government statement advised.
