Bong Go Leads Early Returns as PPCRV Highlights Swift Vote Counting

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting

MANILA – The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) announced Monday night that nearly 75 percent of precinct votes nationwide have been successfully counted by its transparency server, signaling a swift electoral process.

PPCRV spokesperson Ana Singson noted, “Comparing them to 2022 and 2019, it does look that transmission is quite fast.” She attributed this efficiency to advancements in technology, highlighting the impact of 5G connectivity and the deployment of satellite internet services like Starlink.

“This technology has significantly enhanced the quickness of transmission,” Singson explained, emphasizing the role of the extensive Starlink network in facilitating real-time vote counting.

As of 10:37 p.m. on Monday, the preliminary results showcased a competitive race among the top senatorial candidates. Leading the pack was Bong Go, with over 25 million votes, followed by Bam Aquino with nearly 20 million. Other notable candidates included Bato Dela Rosa, Erwin Tulfo, and Kiko Pangilinan, all garnering substantial voter support.

In addition to the senatorial race, several party-list groups are making their mark, with Akbayan, Duterte Youth, and Tingog among the frontrunners. The diverse array of party-list candidates reflects the dynamic political landscape as voters voice their preferences across various platforms.

As the counting continues, the PPCRV’s efficient vote transmission process is a promising sign for the future of electoral integrity in the Philippines. Voters and observers alike are keenly watching as the results unfold, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s democratic journey. (source: PNA)
