“We need to find a city that is really easy to travel, and Hong Kong has that quality,” said Elaine Hui, Niantic’s APAC regional marketing director. She highlighted the city’s unique blend of architectural styles, from modern skyscrapers to historic neighborhoods, as a key attraction for the event.
For international players like Lisa Broadwell from Sweden, the safari represents more than just a gaming experience. “I like the walk and catch aspect of Pokémon Go,” Broadwell explained. “This event lets me discover the city in a unique and innovative way.”
Jim Haughey, a seasoned Pokémon Go traveler who journeyed from Las Vegas, emphasized the global appeal of such events. Despite a grueling 15-hour flight, he remains enthusiastic about exploring Hong Kong through the game’s lens.
