MTR to Provide Overnight Services for Mid-Autumn Festival

In a festive gesture for the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 17, the MTR Corporation has announced extended overnight services to accommodate the celebrations. This move aims to enhance accessibility for the public, allowing families and friends to partake in the traditional festivities.

All local railway lines will operate overnight, with notable exceptions including the Airport Express and the Disneyland Resort Line, as well as routes to and from Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations on the East Rail Line. Additionally, seven Light Rail routes—505, 507, 610, 614P, 615P, 706, and 751—will also maintain overnight service.

The railway operator plans to add approximately 520 train trips throughout the night, ensuring that revelers can travel conveniently during this time of celebration.

Moreover, starting from 3 PM on Mid-Autumn Festival, eight MTR lines will see enhanced service frequencies. The Island Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Kwun Tong Line, and Tseung Kwan O Line will operate with trains arriving approximately every two minutes during peak hours. After 8 PM, many of these lines will further increase their service, offering trains every three to four minutes to accommodate the evening crowd.

In addition to the railway enhancements, MTR Bus routes 506, K51, and K54 will also extend their hours of operation, providing comprehensive transportation options for those celebrating the festival.

This initiative highlights the MTR Corporation’s commitment to supporting community events and ensuring that Hong Kong residents and visitors can enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival without transportation concerns.
