MANILA — A single lottery ticket purchased in Tuguegarao City has transformed an anonymous resident’s life after hitting the PHP57.5 million MegaLotto 6/45 jackpot, Philippine lottery officials announced Saturday.
The winning ticket, bearing the numbers 22-24-28-05-07-25, was bought in Barangay Tanza, a neighborhood in the capital of Cagayan province. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed the sole winner has one year to claim the substantial prize at the agency’s main office in Mandaluyong City.
The windfall comes with a standard 20 percent tax deduction, and the ticket holder must present the original winning ticket along with two valid forms of identification for verification.
While one player celebrates a life-changing moment, the draw also produced secondary winners: 102 bettors secured PHP32,000 each for matching five numbers, while 3,100 players won PHP1,000 for correctly guessing four numbers.
The MegaLotto 6/45, which draws occur three times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, continues to captivate lottery enthusiasts across the Philippines.
