DUBAI, UAE — In a vibrant celebration of culture and opportunity, Hong Kong has taken center stage in Dubai with its “Immersive Hong Kong” exhibition, captivating over 200,000 visitors during the festive season. This dynamic showcase, which ran from December 20 to January 5, was designed to introduce the Middle Eastern audience to the unique business, investment, and tourism potential that Hong Kong has to offer.
The exhibition, orchestrated by the Information Services Department (ISD) in collaboration with the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Dubai, employed cutting-edge interactive art technology to immerse attendees in the rich tapestry of Hong Kong’s offerings. From its bustling markets to its serene landscapes, the exhibition aimed to present a multifaceted view of the city that is often overlooked by the region.
Apollonia Liu, Director of Information Services, expressed her enthusiasm for the positive reception. “We are very delighted with the positive response as well as the expansion of our circle of friends and network through staging this exhibition,” Liu said, highlighting the event’s success in fostering connections between Hong Kong and the Middle East.
The “Immersive Hong Kong” exhibition is part of a broader promotional campaign by the ISD to unveil Hong Kong’s latest attractions and business advantages. Since the beginning of 2023, Chief Executive John Lee and key officials have been actively visiting the Middle East, seeking to strengthen ties and explore business avenues. This initiative illustrates Hong Kong’s commitment to expanding its international presence and collaborating more closely with the region.
Dubai marks the fifth stop for the exhibition, following successful events in Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Guangzhou. The ISD has announced plans to continue this momentum, exploring opportunities to bring the exhibition to additional cities later this year.
As Hong Kong continues to deepen its engagement with the Middle East, the “Immersive Hong Kong” exhibition serves not only as a gateway for tourism but also as a beacon for future investment and business collaboration, promising to enhance the dialogue between these two vibrant regions.
