The Hong Kong police reported that at 11:49 this morning (January 24) they received a call from a staff member of the Island Shangri-Hotel, informing them that they found the Filipino man, 61 years old, unresponsive inside his room.
Immediately responding to the call, the ambulance and police arrived at the scene and found the man unconscious on the chair inside his room. In an unconscious state, the medical team brought the man immediately to Ruttonjee Hospital for medical intervention.
At the hospital, the Filipino man was certified dead at 1:45 p.m.
In the initial investigation by the police, it was reported that the Filipino man carried a Philippine passport.
