CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — The Department of Migrant Workers in Northern Mindanao announced Monday it will make available more than 3,400 job opportunities for returning overseas Filipino workers as part of a newly launched national reintegration initiative backed by the private sector.
The agency said the positions would be presented during the launch of the “Bayanihan para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa: National Reintegration Network” — a government-led program designed to provide returning migrant workers with sustainable livelihood pathways.
DMW Regional 10 Officer-in-Charge Director Emmanuel Toledo said the event, scheduled for Tuesday at the tourism hall within the Cagayan de Oro City Hall compound, would offer 3,419 positions spanning both domestic and overseas employment.
“If they choose to work overseas again, we have available overseas job opportunities through our Philippine recruitment agencies that would ensure safe and legal employment,” Toledo said.
Workers opting to remain in the Philippines will have access to local employment listings, livelihood programs, financial assistance, and skills development initiatives, according to Toledo.
The launch forms part of the national government’s broader effort to recognize the economic contributions of overseas Filipino workers while ensuring they have viable options — including entrepreneurship — upon their return home.
Toledo urged returning OFWs across Northern Mindanao to attend the event. The DMW-10 is coordinating the initiative with private sector partners, recruitment agencies, and local government units.
