In a recent update regarding the case of two missing Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong, the Philippine Consulate General has taken significant steps to facilitate their search. The Consulate has engaged with local authorities and reached out to the families of the missing individuals, emphasizing the importance of coordination and support during this distressing time.
The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong stated:
“The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong has already officially reported the matter to the Hong Kong Liaison Bureau to facilitate the search for the two missing Filipino workers by relevant authorities and to look into all possible leads into their disappearance.
As of today, we received information from the Hong Kong authorities that the two missing OFWs have no departure records from Hong Kong.
The Consulate General, through its Overseas Workers Welfare Office, has also reached out to the next of kin of the missing workers to maintain close coordination and provide appropriate support to them.
We caution against the spread of rumors, speculations, and unverified information out of respect for the privacy of the families of the two workers and all concerned, but we also thank the local media and our community for generating public awareness and sharing useful information that can lead to the resolution of this matter.”
