Following the highly successful debut of the Doraemon drone show in May, organizers have announced that the spectacular event will return to Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour this Saturday, July 20.

Similar to the previous performance, the second Doraemon drone show will last approximately 15 minutes. However, this year’s edition promises even more thrilling content, with 1,000 drones set to form multiple classic scenes and styles from the beloved anime series.

“The response to our first Doraemon drone show was overwhelming,” said event organizer Lee Wan-ki. “This time, we’ve really pulled out all the stops to deliver an even more immersive and mesmerizing experience for the audience.”

To accommodate the event, there will be road closures and one-way crowd control measures implemented in the Tsim Sha Tsui area on July 20. Fans are advised to enjoy the drone performance from the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade (Tsim Sha Tsui East) and the closed section of eastbound Salisbury Road.

Those who had previously purchased tickets to the paid “100% Doraemon & Friends” exhibition area for July 20 will be able to choose between two sessions – from 10 am to 4:30 pm or from 8 pm to 10:30 pm – to comply with the event’s logistical requirements.

Unfortunately, the free outdoor exhibition area will be suspended on the day of the drone show, as organizers focus on ensuring a seamless and spectacular performance for the thousands expected to witness Doraemon’s return to the Victoria Harbour skyline.

“This is a must-see event for any Doraemon fan or lover of dazzling light displays,” added Lee. “We can’t wait to light up the harbor once again with the magic of Doraemon.”
