Second phase of HKU Domestic Workers Empowerment Project (DWEP) launched

 Domestic Workers Empowerment Project

The Service 100 Domestic Workers Empowerment Project (DWEP) of the Hong Kong University launched its second phase with an organized tour of the university for the next batch of domestic workers enrollees.

“The purpose of this project is to empower the domestic workers with a positive state of body and mind so that they can maintain a safe, healthy, joyous and rewarding life during their time in HK and beyond. Moreover, HKU students will advocate and promote cultural understanding, inclusion and respect for domestic workers in Hong Kong.”

DWEP project coordinator Dr. Michael Manio of HKU is extending an invitation to all OFWs who would like to join the program which will hold a series of lectures and workshops in the coming months on health, law and, food and hygiene. Those who complete the attendance will receive a certificate from the University of Hong Kong.
